I used to live in New Orleans on Nashville Ave, uptown. I lived with my best friend / roommate and our Duchess. I work from home so I was lucky enough to spend all day with my little girl, I watched her roam, play, and grow on a daily basis. Each day was filled with curiosities and "huh ... why?" expressions, rules were taught and broken and a routine was created. Everyday around lunch time Duchess would curl up under my desk, beside my feet, and rest her baby body. Recuperate and recover from the morning of adventures. Amidst the squeaky toys, training pads, leashes, collars, bones, "no-nos" and "good-girls" were special moments when all of my love and affection was showered upon Duchess in a silent way, an understood way. I loved to watch her sleep this way, free of distraction I am able to see just how amazing creatures are - basic functioning at its most intimate level.
